Psychiatric Services (Virtual or In-person)

Initial Evaluation:

$600 for children (1.5 hrs)

$400 for adults (1 hr)

For adults, children, or adolescents that will receive ongoing care at Root Psychiatry.

We will discuss you or your child’s current symptoms and functioning, review past history and background, and together develop a treatment plan that feels like a good fit for all of us.

  • The treatment plan will focus on three pillars of effective mental health care, including: Biological approaches (such as medications and botanicals), Nutritional/Diet planning, and Psychological aspects (such as psychotherapy)

  • We'll also answer any questions you have regarding the safety of medications and the other treatment options. 

Medication Management Follow-Up:

$250 for children (45 mins)

$225 for adults (30 mins)

Patients managed on medication will follow up with their provider every 1-3 months for refills, treatment adjustments, psychotherapy, and emotional support. If you are seeing a non-MD therapist, we’ll coordinate with them to provide care. The frequency of follow up visits is determined by your clinician based on case complexity and your personalized treatment plan.

Insurance

We are only in-network with Optum/UnitedHealthcare.

If you choose to submit claims for reimbursement, we will provide you with the needed documentation of services provided. Please note that Medicare beneficiaries are not permitted to submit claims for out-of-network providers.

About the Founder:

Dr. Sahgal, double board-certified in Adult and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, trained at Rutgers and NYU Grossman, specializes in behavioral disorders, autism, and ADHD. He combines evidence-based and non-traditional methods. As a Clinical Assistant Professor at UT Southwestern, he mentors students and works in over 40 hospital systems, focusing on emergency and consult-liaison psychiatry.

Dr. Sahgal employs evidence-based approaches, including medication and various therapies, while also utilizing non-traditional methods for challenging cases where Western medicine has fallen short.
